Slim fast-hopefully!

A post today on the new diet I have embarked on. I had the news a week ago or so that I'd be going on holiday mid July, lovely news, however I then had the horrible image of sitting round the pool with everyone in bikinis and me doing anything possible to cover myself up,the strategically placed watermelon was one of the funniest ideas. However, who wants to worry what they look like on holiday?! So I started researching diets, and came across the Slim Fast Diet. The diet consists of three healthy-ish snacks a day (fruit, low calorie chocolate bars and low calorie crisps are my favourite!), then you have two meal replacements (a milkshake or a meal replacement bar) and then you have one balanced meal a day. It does sound a bit daunting at first,ONE MEAL?! However if you set times when to have the snacks it is fairly easy to achieve. For example if you have a milkshake for breakfast, have a snack between breakfast and lunch etc.

An example of the food you can expect to eat in a day with this diet

I brought all my slim fast products at Superdrug when they were on a 2 for 1 deal, however I have noticed that Weight watchers crisps and bars (which would be used for your snacks) are roughly the same amount of calories as the Slim Fast ones but are reasonably cheaper- a good alternative. The Slim Fast website is extremely encouraging, free and easy to set up an account, it includes tips and success stories, as well as being able to plan out your daily or even weekly meals, for people who find it easier to lose weight when they see their meals in front of them.

I would even suggest for people to use the website even to just use the recipes they have, the selection isn't vast, however the steps are clear and easy to follow and the meals are fairly adaptable. The recipes also include all the nutrition information needed which is very helpful. Although I have to ask the question, how much weight is possible to lose when you're solely consuming milkshakes, chocolate, crisps and a little fruit (as well as your one meal), and this is the question I will be answering with weekly weigh ins of myself, and I will keep you updated on my progress, I hope for the best as the holiday day approaches!
